The New York Jets and free-agent quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick have been at a stalemate this offseason with reports indicating the team has offered a contract worth between $7 million and $8 million.

But on Friday, multiple reports surfaced that the Jets offered Fitzpatrick a three-year deal that includes $12 million guaranteed in the first year.

In fact, Fitzpatrick's agent has had the deal on his desk for about two months. A league source confirmed the offer on Friday night to ESPN.

The 33-year-old Fitzpatrick made $3.25 million last season when he threw for 3,905 yards and 31 touchdowns with the Jets.

Fitzpatrick, who turns 34 in November, has never played in the postseason.

He reportedly has been seeking a deal that pays about $15 million a year. In recent days, Fitzpatrick has remained silent when asked about negotiations. He has said he looks forward to returning to the Jets.

During organized team activities, Geno Smith has been taking snaps with the first team.
