Bad news continues to pile up for troubled former NFL quarterback Johnny Manziel.

The NFL is looking for more information on Manziel's involvement in a car wreck last month in West Hollywood, Calif., as part of a larger investigation into the former Cleveland Browns quarterback's off-field issues, TMZ reported Monday.

Manziel told police in April that he was the passenger in the Mercedes-Benz S550 rental car that smashed into a light pole after a night of partying, per the TMZ report.

Manziel's role in the crash remains unclear but neither Manziel nor the driver was arrested or charged with a crime.

The rental car's owner said the two have not reimbursed him for what he said is $90,000 worth of damage to the car that has a base price of $95,550.

On Friday, TMZ Sports reported that Manziel was kicked out of a Las Vegas nightclub after allegedly punching a man.

According to the report, the melee began when hip-hop star Drake arrived at Jewel Nightclub for a surprise performance and patrons began to crowd toward the stage. Pushed from behind, Manziel allegedly turned and threw a punch.

Photos surfaced last week on social media of Manziel partying and appear to show he has lost a lot of weight.

Manziel, who is listed at 6-0, 210 on NFL.com, looked far skinnier in pictures released by TMZ from a pool party at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Manziel's shirtless look triggered many concerned comments on social media.

Earlier this month, Manziel appeared in Dallas County court to face a charge of misdemeanor assault related to family violence.

The former Heisman Trophy winner at Texas A&M reported voluntarily and was booked and released on May 4. He appeared in court the next day.

Manziel, 23, faces maximum penalties of one year in jail and a $4,000 fine for alleged hitting and dragging his ex-girlfriend, Colleen Crowley, to get her into a car against her will on Jan. 30. In a signed affidavit, Crowley said one open-handed blow to her head caused her to lose hearing from a ruptured eardrum. Manziel was ordered to stay at least 500 feet from Crowley's residence.

Manziel was a first-round draft pick of the Browns in 2013. Many teams questioned Manziel's commitment to being a professional before the draft because of social media and acquaintances providing details of his party lifestyle.

In January 2015, Manziel entered a treatment facility for 73 days.

Since being released by the Browns in March after numerous off-field incidents, Manziel was dropped by a second agent, prominent player rep Drew Rosenhaus, because he refused to re-enter a treatment program.
