NEW YORK -- New York Yankees center fielder Jacoby Ellsbury left Friday's game against the Boston Red Sox with a tight right hip and was scheduled to have an MRI.

Ellsbury was lifted between the first and second innings after walking, stealing two bases and scoring New York's first run in the first inning.

Ellsbury was injured on his stolen base of third. He rounded third and considered scoring when Rick Porcello's pitch went to the backstop. Ellsbury stopped and grabbed his hip.

In the third year of a seven-year, $153 million contract signed after the 2013 season, Ellsbury is batting .260 with one home run, nine RBIs and nine stolen bases this season.
