Dana Stubblefield, a retired three-time NFL Pro Bowl defensive tackle, has been charged with the rape of a disabled woman, the Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office announced Monday.

Stubblefield, 45, allegedly sexually assaulted the woman at his Morgan Hill, Calif. home on April 9, 2015. The then-31-year-old woman was interviewing for a job as a babysitter.

Stubblefield faces five felony counts related to the charge and could face "a substantial prison sentence" if convicted, according to the District Attorney's Office.

"This was a crime of violence against a vulnerable victim," Santa Clara Deputy District Attorney Tim McInerny said in a press release. "She was looking for a job and she was unconscionably assaulted."

Bail is set at $250,000 and Stubblefield will be arraigned at the South County Courthouse in Morgan Hill on Wednesday, the San Jose Mercury News reported.

Stubblefield played for the San Francisco 49ers, Washington Redskins and Oakland Raiders during his 11-year career.

As a rookie in 1993, Stubblefield recorded a career-high 64 tackles and 10.5 sacks and went on to win the NFL's Defensive Rookie of the Year Award.
