Floyd Mayweather hinted at coming out of retirement for a possible big payday after saying he would not return to the ring.

While Mayweather insisted that he is happy with his life outside the ropes after stepping away from boxing as an undefeated champion last fall, he acknowledged Saturday that he has been in discussions with CBS and Showtime about a possible fight.

"Everyone is asking me, 'Is Floyd Mayweather coming back?'" Mayweather said. "Right now, I'm happy being on this side, but I've been talking with CBS and Showtime, and you just never know. But right now, I'm just happy on this side."

Mayweather made his comments in Washington, where one of his fighters from Mayweather Promotions, super-middleweight titleholder Badou Jack, fought to a majority draw against Lucian Bute.

"As of right now, some crazy numbers have been thrown my way -- upwards, of course, of nine figures," Mayweather told Showtime. "But I'm truly blessed beyond belief, and I really don't know what we're going to do. But right now, I'm really happy being on this side helping our fighters."

Mayweather beat Manny Pacquiao in a unanimous decision a year ago and then defeated Andre Berto in September. With a 49-0 career record, Mayweather walked away after the Berto fight and said he was finished.

No opponent has been named for a potential comeback bout, but Mayweather said calls for him to fight undefeated middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin are unrealistic.

"How can Floyd Mayweather fight at 160 (pounds) when I can never even make 154?" he said of moving up several weight classes to face Golovkin.
