The Atlanta Falcons agreed to terms with former Arizona Cardinals linebacker Sean Weatherspoon on a one-year contract Friday.
Weatherspoon, 28, gets a chance to revive his career in his return to the Falcons.
The 6-foot-2, 244-pound Weatherspoon was selected by the Falcons in the first round (19th overall) of the 2010 NFL Draft. He spent his first four season in Atlanta, playing in 47 games (41 starts) and recording 288 total tackles with eight sacks, two fumble recoveries, two interceptions, one forced fumble and 13 passes defensed.
Weatherspoon was sidelined the entire 2014 season and was signed by the Arizona Cardinals during the 2015 offseason. He saw limited action for the Cardinals last season, playing in 14 games (no starts) with just 11 tackles.
