Washington Nationals catcher Wilson Ramos returned to the team on Sunday after being way to undergo Lasik eye surgery.

Ramos had the laser procedure on Thursday in Washington D.C. and said his vision was vastly improved upon returning to spring training at Viera, Fla.

"Right now I can see the difference," Ramos told reporters. "It will probably help me behind the plate, and in front of the plate as well."

Ramos, 28, said he began experiencing vision issues about two years ago. He was able to correct the issues with contact lenses but often had trouble putting them in and out of his eyes and a doctor suggested the laser surgery.

"He told me that was a good surgery, quick surgery, and I would not lose too many days," Ramos said. "So I make the decision, and finally everything is going well, and I can see the difference right now. It's pretty impressive."

Ramos batted .229 with 15 homers and a career-high 68 RBIs last season.
