CHARLOTTE, N.C., Feb. 19 (UPI) -- Residents of Charlotte were shocked to find out last week that they had hired a NASCAR driver to taxi them around the city.
Danica Patrick took a shift for Lyft while going undercover. Patrick sported a beanie and sunglasses while she drag raced cars at traffic lights and took tight corners. She gave several passengers hints about her other day job by talking about driving 500 miles and turning left.
Finally, Patrick asked her passengers what they thought about Danica Patrick and who their favorite drivers were. She then revealed herself as the famous driver and took selfies with each passenger.
Patrick, 33, is set to start at 16th for Stewart-Haas Racing at 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 21 in the Dayton 500. She has never won a NASCAR Sprint Cup or Xfinity Series race. But has a total of 13 top-10 finishes.
