Baltimore Orioles acquire RHP Odrisamer Despaigne from San Diego Padres

The Baltimore Orioles acquired right-hander Odrisamer Despaigne from the San Diego Padres on Thursday for minor-league right-hander Jean Cosme.

Despaigne struggled in 2015 and went 5-9 with a 5.80 ERA in 34 appearances (18 starts). He went 4-7 with a 3.36 ERA in 16 starts in 2014 as a rookie.

Cosme made 12 starts for Single-A Aberdeen last season and went 3-5 with a 4.74 ERA. He was Baltimore's 17th-round selection in 2014.

Baltimore designated left-hander C.J. Riefenhauser for assignment to open up a spot on the 40-man roster.
