Ronda Rousey on SNL: Hollly Holm 'deserved to win'

By Alex Butler

NEW YORK, Jan. 24 (UPI) -- After months of seclusion, movie filming, and a Marine Ball, Ronda Rousey finally congratulated Holly Holm for knocking her out.

In an appearance on Saturday Night Live, Rousey spoke about UFC 193, a bout where she was kicked in the face and lost her UFC women's bantamweight title to Holm.

"This is the first time I'm talking to my fans since I lost to Holly Holm in November — which by the way was a fight Holly deserved to win," Rousey said. "I just wanted to take a minute and sincerely congratulate her."

After Rousey's congratulations, she shouted: "that's enough" and motioned to the audience to quiet.

One of Rousey's rivals, Chris Cyborg, took to Twitter to throw shade.

"Watching #SNL and it looks like @rondarousey still needs help on her standup," Cyborg tweeted.

While many critics came out to speak about Rousey's lack of lead roles in the comedy skits, Rousey was grateful for the opportunity.

"Thank you @nbcsnl for an unforgettable night. Had a blast and learned so much....," Rousey said on Instagram. "Thank you to everyone who took the time to watch and support. Hope you all enjoyed the show."

After he congratulations, Rousey dropped a somewhat cheesy monologue before assisting the microphone to Selena Gomez.

Rousey, 28, could face Holm in a rematch later this year, if Holm can defeat Miesha Tate March 5 at UFC 197 in Las Vegas.
