Tennessee Titans promote Dick LeBeau to DC

The Tennessee Titans named 78-year-old Dick LeBeau as the team's defensive coordinator Wednesday.

The Titans also hired Terry Robiskie as offensive coordinator and Bobby April as special teams coordinator.

LeBeau joined the Titans last season as an assistant head coach for defense. He will retain that title on coach Mike Mularkey's staff while taking over as defensive coordinator.

Ray Horton, who served as defensive coordinator the previous two seasons, was hired for the same job by the Cleveland Browns.

LeBeau has a wealth of experience in the role, having worked as Pittsburgh Steelers' defensive coordinator for 11 seasons. He has been an NFL coach since 1973. Inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2010, LeBeau has been in the league for 57 years.

Robiskie, 61, also has plenty of experience in the NFL, with six of his 34 years in the league spent as an offensive coordinator with the Oakland Raiders (1989-93) and the Browns (2004). For the past eight seasons, he was the wide receivers coach for the Atlanta Falcons.

Mularkey and Robiskie worked together with the Miami Dolphins in 2007 and with the Falcons from 2008 to 2011. Robiskie takes over for Jason Michael, who becomes Tennessee's quarterbacks coach.

April, 62, was named the NFL's special teams coach of the year in 2004 and 2008. He was with the New York Jets in 2015.
