NEW ORLEANS - New Orleans Pelicans All-Star forward Anthony Davis injured his lower right back after diving into the courtside seats for a loose ball during the first quarter of Friday night's game against the Indiana Pacers.

He was listed as questionable to return.

Davis hustled after a ball near the New Orleans bench three minutes into the game, diving into the second row and knocking over a half-dozen seats.

Davis stayed down for about 30 seconds, got up and returned to the game but then grabbed his lower right back as the Pelicans advanced the ball upcourt. Coach Alvin Gentry called a 20-second timeout and Davis limped to the locker room.

Davis has been prone to nagging injuries during his three NBA seasons, in part because of his high-energy style.
