According to Tom Pelissero of USA TODAY Sports, Shurmur is interviewing for the position Monday.

The Eagles are seeking a replacement for Chip Kelly, who was fired last Tuesday by owner Jeffrey Lurie.

Shurmur would be the second in-house candidate to sit down with Lurie. Eagles running backs coach Duce Staley interviewed for the job on Friday.

The 50-year-old Shurmur was 9-23 in two years as head coach with the Cleveland Browns. He spent 10 years as an Eagles assistant previously (1999-2008), before coming back in 2013 as Kelly's offensive coordinator.

Shurmur deflected questions about whether he expects to be part of the future with the Eagles after Sunday's 35-30 win over the New York Giants.

"I enjoyed this opportunity, but it was kind of bittersweet," Shurmur said Sunday. "If I'd been a better assistant, maybe this wouldn't be the case. I don't know.

"I told the players (Saturday) night that I've probably learned more in the last three years than any stretch in my coaching career."

Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Doug Pederson is considered a leading candidate for the Eagles' job. Pederson has spent the last three seasons as the Chiefs' offensive coordinator on Andy Reid's staff.

Pederson, 47, spent four seasons as an offensive assistant under Reid in Philadelphia from 2009 to 2012. Pederson then followed Reid to Kansas City. Pederson also spent 10 years as a backup quarterback in the NFL, including the 1999 season in Philadelphia.
