Mike Tyson falls off hoverboard, social media takes notice

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 31 (UPI) -- He may not have suffered many knockouts against his opponents during a celebrated boxing career, but Mike Tyson tumbled quickly when he hopped on a hoverboard.

Tyson took a ride on his daughter's hoverboard, and posted a video Tuesday of the stunt. In the video, Tyson does a couple circles, then leans forward to move toward the camera. At the end of his route, Tyson gets unbalanced and falls, landing hard on his back.

"Seemed like a good idea to ride my daughter #milantyson #cyboard #hoverboard but guess not," Tyson said in a tweet.

After the video surfaced, memes and edits came by the truckload. One video featured Little Mac from the Nintendo series ' Mike Tyson's Punch-Out.' The video, edited by Vine user Ry Ry, currently has more than 7.8 million loops.

Meme making app Spun also created a video on Vine, featuring Tyson falling off of his hoverboard, video-game style.

The U.S. Product Safety Commission announced a 35 percent increase in "injuries caused by hoverboards," according to CNET.
