RHP Darren O'Day agrees to four-year deal with Orioles

Right-handed relief pitcher Darren O'Day agreed to a four-year, $31 million deal to return to the Baltimore Orioles, multiple media outlets reported Sunday.

The 33-year-old free agent was expected to agree to a deal with the Washington Nationals on Friday, according to the Baltimore Sun, but the Orioles came back with a fourth-year offer.

The 6-foot-4, 220-pound Day, a setup reliever known for his submarine delivery, has appeared in at least 68 games in each of his four seasons with the Orioles.

In 2015, Day went 6-2 with six saves, posted a 1.52 ERA and was voted to the All-Star Game for the first time in his career. In four seasons with the Orioles, O'Day is 23-8 with a 1.92 ERA in 273 appearances.
