Colts place RB Ahmad Bradshaw on IR, sign Zurlon Tipton

The Indianapolis Colts placed running back Ahmad Bradshaw on season-ending injured reserve Monday and signed free agent running back Zurlon Tipton.

Bradshaw injured his wrist during the Colts' 25-12 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday.

The 5-foot-10, 217-pound Bradshaw was signed by the Colts on Oct. 14. He played in six games this season, with 31 carries for 85 yards and 10 receptions for 64 yards and three touchdowns.

Bradshaw has played in 103 career NFL games (36 starts) for the Colts and New York Giants, with 1,083 carries for 4,928 yards and 36 touchdowns, 187 receptions for 1,493 yards and 12 touchdowns, eight punt returns for 62 yards and 77 kickoff returns for 1,788 yards. He has seen action in nine postseason games (three starts), with 111 carries for 480 yards and two touchdowns, 20 receptions for 141 yards and seven kickoff returns for 193 yards.

The 6-0, 230-pound Tipton spent time on the Colts' active roster and practice squad this season before being waived on Nov. 26. He was originally signed to the Colts' practice squad on Sept. 15 before being elevated to the active roster on Oct. 1. Tipton has played in 13 career NFL games and recorded 12 carries for 27 yards and six receptions for 68 yards and one touchdown. He has played in three postseason contests, with 18 carries for 68 yards and one touchdown and three receptions for 22 yards.
