Titans still waiting to see DGB's celebrated talent

By The Sports Xchange

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Tennessee Titans rookie wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham's talents were tantalizing enough for the team to spend a second-round pick on him, despite his many troubles in college with off-field issues.

DGB's production has been spotty thus far -- 15 receptions for 221 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He hasn't scored since Week 3, which gives him quite a dry spell going into Sunday's game against the Oakland Raiders, who happen to have the top drafted wide receiver, Amari Cooper.

Green-Beckham knows he has to work in the offseason to be more of a student of the game and to refine his raw talents. The rookie was compared to Randy Moss in terms of his physical traits coming out of college, but a year away from football (he sat out due to NCAA transfer rules) also played a role in his slow development.

Now, DGB said his offseason will be filled with lots of work to find ways to improve himself. In fact, he said he would love to be able to meet Moss.

"If it's possible, he can get a hold of me or my agent," Green-Beckham said. "We can sit down and meet and do lunch or something. I'd like to see if I can pick his brain a little bit and learn from him."

--The youth movement continues on the Titans' shaky offensive line, as undrafted rookie Quinton Spain likely will get the start Sunday at left guard.

The move likely puts Joe Looney on the bench and makes Spain the second rookie starter on the unit (three if you count Jeremiah Poutasi, who was at right tackle but has since been benched). Other than right tackle Byron Bell, all of the starters in that group would have three seasons or less under their belt.

Spain, who goes 6-foot-4, 330 pounds, said he is excited to have the opportunity to show what he can do after being mostly inactive this season.

"It's great just to be out there and do what I can do to help the team. It looks like my role is going to change," Spain said. "I want to be physical and finish plays."
