Golden State guard Stephen Curry offered a mock apology on Tuesday to the team's critics for winning the NBA championship in June.

"I apologize for us being healthy, I apologize for us playing who was in front of us," Curry said. "I apologize for all the accolades we received as a team and individually. I'm very, truly sorry, and we'll rectify that situation this year."

Curry's response was part of an answer to questions about the Warriors being deserving of the title because they avoided the San Antonio Spurs and the Los Angeles Clippers in the NBA playoffs last season.

Warriors forward Draymond Green also chimed in.

"If they saying that, they aren't the champs. It's simple. (Spurs coach) Gregg Popovich didn't say that. That's one organization I really respect. And you haven't heard anybody in their camp say that. You ain't heard anybody from OKC say that, some of the organizations that I really respect," Green said.

"You see the ring fitting man over there? Jason of Beverly Hills, he over there fitting us for our ring? That's pretty cool. So if they saying that, it's some bitterness and some saltiness going around. They obviously not the champs. So who cares what they say. It is what it is."

Warriors guard Klay Thompson called Clippers coach Doc Rivers, one of Golden State's critics, "bitter."

"I wanted to play the Clippers last year, but they couldn't handle their business," Thompson said.

Green added, "It's just bad, man. I would feel bad about myself doing that. That's just crazy to me, but that just lets you know how many people didn't want to see us win. Because they sick."
