Lamar Odom, a former NBA player and later a reality television star, was found unconscious Tuesday at a brothel in Pahrump, Nev.

Odom, 35, was stabilized, taken to a local hospital, then driven by ambulance to a hospital in Las Vegas, according to the Nye County Sheriff's Department.

Dennis Hof, owner of Hof's Love Brothel outside Las Vegas, told the Los Angeles Times that Odom had been at the brothel since Saturday, and he was in a somber mood Sunday.

"Other than that, (he was in) good spirits, wanted to have a good time," Hof told the Times.

According to Hof, two women at the brothel found Odom unconscious Tuesday afternoon, and when they turned him onto his side, "terrible stuff came out" of his nose and mouth.

Hof told the Times that his employees told him Odom was seen using herbal Viagra but no illegal drugs. He hadn't finished a bottle of Cognac he ordered during the weekend.

Odom was part of NBA championship teams with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2008 and 2009. He played 14 seasons in the NBA, also appearing with the Los Angeles Clippers, the Miami Heat and the Dallas Mavericks. The 6-foot-10 forward averaged 13.3 points, 7.4 rebounds and 3.7 assists in 961 career games, the last in 2013.

The Clippers made Odom the fourth overall pick in the 1999 draft out of the University of Rhode Island.

Odom also gained fame by marrying reality-TV star Khloe Kardashian, a four-year union that ended in divorce in 2013.
