Former Louisville recruit JaQuan Lyle was interviewed by NCAA investigators and "told the truth" about the allegations of the basketball team paying female escorts during recruiting visits, according to CBS Sports.

CBS Sports said escort Katina Powell's claims in the book "Breaking Cardinal Rules: Basketball and the Escort Queen," were discussed with Lyle, who decommitted from Louisville and is a freshman at Ohio State. According to the report, Lyle "confirmed the gist" of the claims made in the book, an excerpt of which was made available last week.

Powell wrote that Louisville staff member Andre McGee requested a "show" for "a new recruited named JaQuan Lyle." In all, Powell claimed she was hired for 22 "shows."

Head coach Rick Pitino denied knowledge of Powell or any of the allegations and a university spokesman offered no comment on the CBS Sports report.

Meanwhile, the University of Louisville Foundation announced Thursday that it hired a Louisville law firm, Stites & Harbison, to investigate the allegations. The foundation is a fundraising arm of the university.

Louisville president James Ramsey said the university is working to "identify the facts in this situation." The athletic department hired former NCAA enforcement official Chuck Smrt to conduct its own investigation of the claims.
