The NFL could adopt Patriots head coach Bill Belichick's proposal to use cameras at the goal line and sideline for replay purposes by next season.

Testing will begin at MetLife Stadium, a league spokesman told USA Today, this season and provide multiple games of data for the NFL to evaluate.

For up to 12 games the "boundary camera" system will be in place with views across the goal line, back of the end zone and sideline that aren't always available to replay officials.

However, there are questions among competition committee members about expanding replay. Belichick offered a proposal in March to make any and all plays reviewable, but issues asking replay officials to judge subjective calls such as pass interference and extending the length of the game sparked significant debate.
