New York Mets' Yoenis Cespedes leaves game with bruised fingers

PHILADELPHIA -- New York Mets center fielder Yoenis Cespedes was diagnosed with contusions of the left middle and ring fingers after being hit by a pitch from Philadelphia Phillies reliever Justin De Fratus in the third inning Wednesday night.

Cespedes was struck on the hand by a 3-1 fastball from De Fratus, and he immediately left the game, replaced by pinch runner Kirk Nieuwenhuis. X-rays were negative.

Cespedes, who walked in his first plate appearance Wednesday, is hitting .287 with a .336 on-base percentage, a .610 slugging percentage, 17 homers and 44 RBIs in 54 games since joining the Mets in a trade with the Detroit Tigers.
