Running back Chris Johnson will start in the Arizona Cardinals' preseason finale on Thursday night, ESPN's Josina Anderson reported Wednesday.

Coach Bruce Arians said he wants Johnson to get 10-12 carries against the Denver Broncos. Rookie David Johnson also is expected to see a lot of playing time, with starter Andre Ellington not playing.

Johnson, 29, had been out since shortly after signing Aug. 17 and missed the Cardinals' last two preseason games, against the San Diego Chargers and Oakland Raiders.
