Fan injured in fall at Fenway

A fan was injured at Fenway Park in Boston on Wednesday while trying to catch a foul ball during a game between the Red Sox and the New York Yankees.

The unidentified fan was taken away on a stretcher after flipping over backward in the last row of lower box seats during the seventh inning. The injured fan landed on a concrete walkway between the upper and lower boxes.

There was no immediate word on the fan's condition.

At least three other fans have been injured in the stands this year in Fenway Park. In June, a woman was hit by a piece of broken bat. In July. another woman was struck in the face by a foul ball. Earlier this week, a woman was hit on an elbow by a thrown bat.

Last weekend at Turner Field in Atlanta, a fan died after a fall from the upper deck.
