Washington Redskins coaches and front office personnel want to part ways with quarterback Robert Griffin III, but team owners oppose the move, ESPN reported Sunday.

The Redskins have even told other teams they may be willing to trade Griffin, but no other teams seem interested.

If ownership decides the Redskins must keep Griffin, the team is determined to start a quarterback other than Griffin, according to the ESPN report.

This report ties into the confusion regarding Griffin's playing status following a concussion.

Redskins head coach Jay Gruden acknowledged there was confusion over Griffin's lingering symptoms of a concussion but says the team did everything "by the book."

Griffin was sidelined for the Redskins' 31-13 preseason win over the Baltimore Ravens on Saturday night after an independent neurologist reversed his decision and said RG3 was not cleared to play.
