After the incident, Morgan was at Piedmont Medical Center undergoing treatment for a gunshot wound to the shoulder with police picked him up.

Morgan was in prison while his son starred in high school in Rock Hill. His previous convictions include assault and battery and burglary. As a convicted felon, he was prohibited from possessing a gun.

Clowney, currently on the Texans' inactive list, starred at South Carolina and was the No. 1 pick in the 2014 NFL Draft.

Morgan could face up to 30 years in prison on the attempted murder charge and up to five years on the weapons charge.
