Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr was scheduled to undergo back surgery on Tuesday, CSNBayArea.com reported Tuesday.

The surgery is needed to repair a herniated disk, which has bothered Kerr for several months.

Kerr was in Tahoe for the American Century Celebrity Golf Classic two weeks ago, but did not participate because of his back problem.

"I was supposed to play in the tournament but my back is acting up so I'm just enjoying the lake and the scenery," Kerr told CSN Bay Area. "Can't play this year unfortunately."

Kerr said he will "be out for the summer," but should be fine when training camp opens in September.
