The Sacramento Kings signed first-round pick Willie Cauley-Stein and free-agent guard James Anderson on Thursday and also voided the recent deal for forward Luc Mbah a Moute, who failed his physical.

The Kings used the sixth pick in the draft on the 7-foot Cauley-Stein, who was an All-American and the SEC's top defensive player as a junior at Kentucky last season. He is the only player in school history to record 500 rebounds, 200 blocks and 100 steals.

Cauley-Stein is playing with the Kings' summer-league team in Las Vegas and has impressed with his effort.

"I think Willie always plays hard and he's still adjusting to the NBA game," Kings summer coach John Welch told Pro Basketball Talk. "But one thing I love with Willie is you know every night ... he's going to give you effort."

Anderson, a first-round pick by the San Antonio Spurs in 2010, has averaged 6.3 points in 196 games with San Antonio (2010-11, 2012-13), the Houston Rockets (2012-13) and Philadelphia 76ers (2013-14).

Over 466 NBA games, Mbah a Moute has averaged 6.8 points and 4.9 rebounds.
