Golden State reached agreement Tuesday with Boston on a trade that would send David Lee to the Celtics in exchange for NBA veteran Gerald Wallace, according to an ESPN report.

Lee, a former All-Star, was a starter for the Warriors during his first four years with the team but saw limited action for the NBA champions in 2014-15. He played in 49 regular-season games and averaged 7.9 points and 5.2 rebounds.

The trade will not be finalized until Thursday when the league moratorium on player moves ends.

Lee has career averages of 14.7 points and 9.5 rebounds, including 16.7 points and 9.3 rebounds with the Warriors. He spent his first five NBA seasons with the New York Knicks before joining Golden State.

The deal is a cost-savings move for the Warriors, who will be shedding Lee's $15.4 million contract in 2015-16 in exchange for Wallace's expiring $10 million contract.

The 32-year-old Wallace appeared in 32 games for the Celtics last season and averaged 1.1 points and 1.8 rebounds. He also has played for Sacramento, Charlotte, Portland and Brooklyn during his career.
