Report: G Williams rejoining Cleveland Cavaliers

By The Sports Xchange

Guard Mo Williams reportedly is returning to Cleveland, although his reunion with the Cavaliers won't grab as much attention as LeBron James' homecoming did last summer.

Williams agreed to a two-year, $4.3 million deal with Cleveland, Yahoo! Sports reported Monday.

Williams had considered deals with San Antonio, Dallas and New Orleans before committing to Cleveland, where he will be reunited with James.

Williams averaged 14.2 points and 6.2 assists while playing for both the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Charlotte Hornets last season.

He gives the Cavs a needed outside scoring threat in the backcourt.

Williams' best season was 2008-2009, when he played for Cleveland and was named to the All-Star team for the only time in his career. He averaged 17.8 points and shot 43.6 percent from 3-point range that season, when he helped James and the Cavaliers finish with a 66-16 regular-season record before losing in the Eastern Conference finals.
