Chicago Blackhawks trade G Nilsson to Edmonton Oilers for F Coughlin

The Chicago Blackhawks acquired forward Liam Coughlin from the Edmonton Oilers on Monday in return for goaltender Anders Nilsson.

Coughlin, 20, tallied 60 points (20 goals) for the Vernon Vipers of the British Columbia Hockey League last season and has 105 points (38 goals) in 107 games for Vernon since 2013.

Coughlin was drafted by Edmonton in the fifth round in 2014.

Nilsson, 25, was 20-9-8 with a .936 save percentage and 1.71 goals-against average for Kazan Ak-Bars of the Kontinental Hockey League last season.

The native of Lulea, Sweden, was 9-9-0 with a .898 save percentage and 3.05 GAA in 23 games with the New York Islanders in 2011-12 and 2013-14.

Nilsson was drafted by the Islanders in the third round in 2009. Chicago traded for him on Oct. 4, 2014.
