The deal includes a player option for a third year, Puerto Rican newspaper El Nueva Dia reported Monday.

Barea played in Dallas for his first five seasons, helping the Mavericks win the NBA title in 2011. He returned to Dallas last season after the Minnesota Timberwolves bought out the remainder of the four-year deal he signed in 2011.

Barea, 31, averaged 7.5 points and 3.4 assists per game last season.
