Restricted free agent Draymond Green and the Golden State Warriors reached an agreement on a long-term deal after reports earlier Wednesday indicated that the two sides halted contract negotiations.

Green confirmed on Bleacher Report's Uninterrupted website that he agreed to a five-year deal with the Warriors. No financial terms were disclosed, but the contract was reported to be worth approximately $85 million.

"It's been a long journey to get to this point, whether it's always trying to overcome the odds, overcome doubters, but to be in this position, signing back with the Warriors is amazing," Green told the website.

Both sides were geared toward offering contracts to keep the entire Warriors' roster intact with one exception: unrestricted free agent point guard Leandro Barbosa.

Other teams could have offered Green a max deal of four years, $67.3 million. The New York Knicks, Detroit Pistons and Dallas Mavericks were thought to be interested in him.

Green, who put up a triple-double in the NBA Finals, did a little bit of everything for the Warriors. He finished as runner-up to Chicago Bulls restricted free agent shooting guard Jimmy Butler for the NBA's Most Improved Player award and was also second in voting for Defensive Player of the Year (Kawhi Leonard, Spurs).

Under terms of the collective bargaining agreement, Green was eligible for a contract with a maximum base salary of $15.8 milion next season.
