Coyotes, Oilers swap players

The Arizona Coyotes and Edmonton Oilers swapped forwards on Tuesday.

Heading back to the desert after a two-year absence is Boyd Gordon while Lauri Korpikoski was sent to Alberta's capital.

"Boyd Gordon has a great work ethic and will add experience and leadership to our dressing room. We're excited to have him back," said Coyotes GM Don Maloney.

Gordon spent two seasons in Edmonton, picking up 14 goals and 20 assists over 142 games. He played for the Coyotes from 2011-13, tallying 12 goals and 25 assists in 123 appearances.

Korpikoski spent the last six seasons with the Phoenix-area franchise. In 2014-15, he totaled 21 points (6G, 15A) in 69 games and he heads north after 62 goals and 83 assists over 401 appearances.
