Murray State names McMahon to replace Prohm

Murray State former assistant Matt McMahon will replace Steve Prohm as its head men's basketball coach, the school announced on Tuesday.

The announcement was made a day after Prohm, who went 104-29 as coach of the Racers, was named head coach at Iowa State.

McMahon spent the past four seasons as an assistant to Prohm, helping lead the Racers to 104 wins and two Ohio Valley Conference titles.

He had been hired last month to be an associate head coach at Louisiana Tech.
