San Francisco Giants outfielder Gregor Blanco has been placed on the 7-day concussion disabled list, three days after he was accidentally hit in the head by a thrown ball.

Blanco was struck by a warmup throw from teammate Brandon Belt between innings of Sunday's game at Philadelphia. He was scratched from the lineup in Tuesday's matchup against the New York Mets -- in which Giants pitcher Chris Heston tossed a no-hitter -- after experiencing headaches during batting practice.

Outfielder Jarrett Parker was recalled from Triple-A Sacramento prior to Wednesday's game with the Mets to take Blanco's spot on the active roster.

Blanco is hitting .278 with one homer, seven RBI and four steals while serving primarily as San Francisco's fourth outfielder.

Parker, a second-round pick of the Giants in 2010, was batting .268 with 12 homers and 36 RBI in 54 games with Sacramento.
