Los Angeles Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw and New York Mets pitcher Jacob deGrom were named National League Co-Players of the Week on Monday.

Both Kershaw and deGrom were tied for the NL lead in wins (2), innings pitched (15.0) and strikeouts (18) last week while their matching 1.20 ERAs were tied for the third-lowest among qualifying NL hurlers. Both pitchers each allowed just three free passes during the week.

This is Kershaw's sixth career weekly honor, having won most recently for the week of June 8-14, 2014.

The 26-year-old deGrom was named National League Player of the Week once last year for the week ending July 27.

Philadelphia's Maikel Franco, Joc Pederson of the Dodgers, Colorado's Troy Tulowitzki and Pittsburgh's Mark Melancon also were considered for the award.
