Ana Ivanovic advances to 4th round at French Open

Former champion Ana Ivanovic advanced to the fourth round of the French Open on Friday with a 6-0, 6-3 win over Croatian teenager Donna Vekic.

Ivanovic, the 2008 champ and this year's seventh seed, won the first seven games of the match and finished with only 11 unforced errors. The Serbian is in the round of 16 at a Grand Slam for the first time since the 2014 Australian Open.

Vekic, 18, played in her first third-round match at a major.

In other third-round play, 19th-seeded Ukrainian Elina Svitolina beat German Annika Beck 6-3, 2-6, 6-4 and French favorite Alize Cornet, seeded 29th, rallied for a 4-6, 6-3, 7-5 win over Croatia's Mirjana Lucic-Baroni.
