Work All Week returns to racing in Aristides

Eclipse Award winner Work All Week will make his 2015 racing debut Saturday in the $100,000 Aristides Stakes at Churchill Downs.

Trained by Roger Brueggemann, Work All Week will start the six-furlong sprint from the outside post in the seven-horse field with his regular jockey Florent Geroux.

The 6-year-old chestnut gelding, owned by Midwest Thoroughbreds, last competed when winning the Breeders' Cup Sprint in November at Santa Anita. He won five of six starts in 2014 including the Hot Springs, Iowa Sprint and Phoenix.

Work All Week has earned $1,357,571 with 12 wins in 15 lifetime starts.

Nates Mineshaft, second in the $500,000 Churchill Downs on Kentucky Derby Day, has drawn post 5 with Rafael Mojica Jr. in the saddle. The 8-year-old is trained by Anne Smith for Windy Hill Farm.

Nates Mineshaft ran second the entire way in the Churchill Downs to finish 4 1/4 lengths behind Private Zone.

"Great trip from the outside post. He ran his heart out, he's a very nice horse it was a tough loss ... but he always tries hard," said jockey Florent Geroux who had the mount.

Nates Mineshaft has won nine of 31 career starts for $833,262.

Here is the field for the Aristides from the rail out: Alsvid, Chris Landeros; Viva Majorca, Brian Hernandez Jr.; Googleado, Corey Lanerie; Gentlemen's Bet, Ricardo Santana Jr.; Nates Mineshaft, Rafael Mojica Jr.; Good Lord, Robby Albarado and Work All Week, Florent Geroux.
