American League Game Summary - LA Angels of Anaheim at Boston

Mike Napoli hit two home runs, the last of which broke a tie game, and the Boston Red Sox defeated the Los Angeles Angels 8-3 on Saturday night.

Hanley Ramirez led off the sixth inning with a walk and Napoli deposited a shot to left center with two outs that made it a 4-2 game.

Xander Bogaerts padded the lead with a two-run single in the seventh and the bullpen did the rest to make a winner out of Steven Wright (2-1), who allowed two runs on four hits in 6 1/3 innings.

Junichi Tazawa gave up an RBI single to Mike Trout in the eighth, but Boston added two in the home eighth to account for the final margin.

Boston, which dropped the opener of this three-game set on Friday, snapped its three-game losing streak.

C.J. Wilson (2-3) took the loss after going six innings and allowing four runs on seven hits and three walks with six strikeouts.

Los Angeles jumped on Wright in the first. Erick Aybar singled to right and Albert Pujols hit a ground-rule double two batters later. Calhoun's two-bagger made it 2-0.

Wright settled in and the Red Sox got both of those runs back, one each in the second and third.

Napoli blasted his sixth homer of the season in the second inning to cut Boston's deficit in half, then Mookie Betts sent a single to left in the third to plate Brock Holt.

Ramirez followed Betts with an infield single to load the bases with one out, but David Ortiz grounded into a 3-6-1 double play that ended the inning.
