CFL teams draft FCS players

Offensive linemen dominated the first round of the CFL Draft Tuesday night and the Montreal Alouettes selected Richmond's Jacob Rudy with the eighth overall pick in the first round.

The 6-foot-7, 315-pound Rudy is a native of London, Ontario. As a senior last year, he earned All-CAA third-team honors.

The Calgary Stampeders selected Yale running back Tyler Varga in the third round at No. 19 overall. Varga previously signed a free-agent contract with the Indianapolis Colts and is pursuing an NFL career.

Also, McNeese State defensive lineman Everett Ellefsen was a sixth-round pick of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats at No. 51.
