Vikings pick up fifth-year options on LT Kalil, S Smith

The Minnesota Vikings announced Monday they have picked up the fifth-year options on left tackle Matt Kalil and safety Harrison Smith.

Kalil has started all 48 games at left tackle since he was drafted fourth overall in 2012. He was a Pro Bowler as a rookie.

Smith, who was selected 29th overall in 2012, recorded 92 tackles and five interceptions last season.
