Tiger Woods and Lindsey Vonn announced Sunday that they have ended their relationship after nearly three years.

"Lindsey and I have mutually decided to stop dating," Woods said in a statement on his official website. "I have great admiration, respect and love for Lindsey and I'll always cherish our time together. She has been amazing with (Woods' children) Sam and Charlie and my entire family.

"Unfortunately, we lead very hectic lives and are both competing in demanding sports. It's difficult to spend time together."

Vonn posted a similar message on her Facebook page and said, "I will always admire and respect Tiger. He and his beautiful family will always hold a special place in my heart."

Woods won five times during the 2013 season, with four of titles coming after the pair announced they were dating.

Vonn, the former Olympic downhill champion, injured her right knee at the 2013 World Cup, then re-injured it just before the 2014 Sochi Olympics.
