Murray beat third-seeded Roberto Bautista Agut 6-4, 6-4 after rallying past Lukas Rosol 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 to reach the title match.

It will be the first clay-court final for Murray, who is seeking a 32nd career title. He had dropped his previous five semifinal matches on clay, with four of the losses to Rafael Nadal.

The fifth-seeded Kohlschreiber twice rallied from a set down to reach his fourth final at this tournament. The German defeated fourth-seeded David Goffin 2-6, 6-3, 6-4 in the quarterfinals, then fought back to beat qualifier Gerald Melzer 2-6, 6-1, 6-4 in the semifinals.

Kohlschreiber titled here in 2007 and 2012 and lost the 2013 final to countryman Tommy Haas.

Bautista Agut defeated Victor Estrella Burgos 4-6, 6-0, 6-0 and Melzer topped Dominic Thiem 7-6 (7-5), 3-6, 6-3 to secure their places in the semifinals.
