MLB Game Summary - Chicago Cubs at Oakland

Stephen Vogt went 3-for-3 with a homer and three RBI to lead an Oakland Athletics' offensive onslaught in a 14-2 spring- training rout of the Chicago Cubs.

Oakland pounded Cubs pitching for 18 hits, nine of which went for extra bases. Billy Butler added a two-run homer, Ben Zobrist finished 2-for-4 with two RBI and Ike Davis collected three hits in four at-bats, with Billy Burns, Tyler Ladendorf and Eric Sogard each recording two hits and a pair of runs scored.

Much of the A's damage came against Edwin Jackson, pounded for eight runs and nine hits while lasting just 1 2/3 innings.

On Oakland's pitching side, Barry Zito fired four shutout innings as he continues his comeback attempt. The veteran lefty surrendered just one hit while walking three.

Heralded prospect Kris Bryant produced the Cubs' biggest highlight, launching his MLB-leading ninth homer of the spring in the third inning.
