Arrest made in Morgan State stabbing case

Baltimore police said Wednesday a suspect was arrested in connection to this week's stabbing involving Morgan State football players.

The suspect was not publicly identified. The altercation occurred outside a campus dining hall Tuesday afternoon.

Police initially said three victims were stabbed, but on Wednesday the Baltimore Sun reported two players were stabbed and the third player suffered abrasions from the attack yet had not stabbed.

One of the victims was hospitalized in serious condition after being stabbed in the chest.

The incident occurred at a gathering sponsored by the Morgan State student government and several fraternities and sororities. A university spokesman said a suspect was observed swinging a knife outside the cafeteria.

Morgan State earned a spot in the 2014 FCS playoffs as the champion of the Mid- Eastern Athletic Conference.
