The rest of the No. 1 seeds also followed the AP poll, with Notre Dame, South Carolina and Maryland leading their brackets.

Unbeaten Princeton (30-0) was given a No. 8 seed.

UConn, seeking its third consecutive title, begins play in the Albany Region on Saturday with a home game against St. Francis of New York. The Huskies have won eight of their nine national championships as the No. 1 seed and have made the regional semifinals 21 years in a row.

Geno Auriemma's team started the season as the nation's top-ranked team before suffering its lone loss to Stanford in November. The Huskies reclaimed the top spot five weeks ago.

Notre Dame is No. 1 in the Oklahoma City Region and will open against Montana on Friday.

South Carolina begins play in the Greensboro Region against Savannah State on Friday and Maryland opens play in the Spokane Region against New Mexico State on Saturday.
