MLB Game Summary - NY Mets at Miami

Matt Harvey's second start coming off Tommy John surgery was as electrifying as his debut, as the New York Mets lost to the Miami Marlins, 7-4, in Grapefruit League play on Wednesday.

Harvey, who tossed two perfect innings in his debut last Friday, was charged with two runs on six hits in 2 2/3 innings. He was capped at 49 pitches with his velocity down a bit in this start. In his first game back, he was in the mid-90s, topping off at 99 m.p.h. Today he was consistently in the low-90s.

Top prospect Noah Syndergaard was better in his second outings, allowing just one hit and striking out five in 2 2/3 innings. He was also capped at 49 pitches.

Henderson Alvarez started for the Marlins and allowed two runs on four hits in three innings. He struck out four.

Reid Brignac and Matt Yelich had two hits apiece for Miami.

Matt Reynolds had two hits and Ruben Tejada had a pair of doubles and two RBI for New York.
