HAMPTON, Ga., Feb. 28 (UPI) -- A NASCAR Sprint Cup car that was stolen from a hotel parking lot near the Atlanta Motor Speedway was found undamaged abandoned on the roadside.

Travis Kvapil's orange and blue No. 44 Chevrolet was discovered in Loganville, Ga. It had been stolen Friday morning from the Drury Inn parking lot in nearby Murrow. Even though it was found ahead of Sunday's Sprint Cup race, Team Xtreme was forced to drop out because the car wasn't in the qualifying run.

Even though Kvapil said he was "depressed and bummed out" that he couldn't race this weekend, he expressed his excitement at the discovery on Twitter.

The car went missing early Friday. Hotel surveillance video showed a black pickup truck speeding off with the team's 15-foot trailer with the car inside.

"When you get a car stolen, you don't go out and buy another one," Team Xtreme racing owner John Cohen said before the car was found.
