Russell Westbrook, Giannis Antetokounmpo named NBA Players of the Week

Oklahoma City guard Russell Westbrook and Milwaukee forward Giannis Antetokounmpo were named NBA Players of the Week on Monday.

Westbrook was named Western Conference Player of the Week after averaging 34.3 points, 9.3 rebounds and 9.0 assists to help the Thunder to a 3-1 record last week.

He had a triple-double in a win over Orlando and scored a career-high 48 points with 11 assists and nine rebounds in a last-second loss to New Orleans. He joined Kobe Bryant, Wilt Chamberlain and Elgin Baylor as the only players in NBA history to have at least 45 points, five rebounds and five assists in back-to-back games.

Antetokounmpo averaged 19.5 points, 11.0 rebounds and 3.3 assists while also leading Milwaukee to a 3-1 record, earning him the Eastern Conference award.
